Second-generation leadership is moving this veteran Austrian production house into new markets and new formats.

When you`re running the oldest, most venerable production house in Austria`one that`s worked for the biggest global marketers in the business like P&G`it`s important that you always stay current, relevant and on the cutting edge.

Who better to take this on than an executive producer who`s not yet 30?

That would be Philipp Schwinger, the talkative and well-travelled head of ffp productions in Vienna, who has been at the helm of this company for the past three years:  It was founded by his mother, Monika, back in 1972: :  Wildly successful before, under Philipp`s leadership ffp is now expanding beyond its traditional market of producing spots for Austria, Germany and Switzerland while also ushering itself into new formats like web video, branded content and even stereoscopic 3D.

Schwinger`who attended the American International School in Vienna and looks and sounds like the kind of guy you`d find hanging out on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica`started at the company as an assistant, helping out on shoots and working in accounting:  A marketing student in college, he says he wanted to do something on his own, but was drawn into the family business by the familiarity of it and his love for producing.

It was a pretty big deal back then he recalls of his early days, working with all this international talent and shooting all over the place:  I remember talking with my friends from school about what they wanted to do`we all wanted to make our own mark`and I came to realize that this was pretty cool.

Cool it still is`since 2007 he`s been able to not only take care of ffp`s traditional business, but is also putting his own personal stamp on the company:  Back when his mother founded the company it was an entirely different era, marked by the advent of commercial television in Europe, as formerly state-run TV networks began to share space on the dial with commercial networks.

Monika Schwinger as a true pioneer, her son admits`one of the few women to own and operate her own film production company in Europe:  At the time ffp was one of only three production houses that handled almost all of the production for P&G commercials running in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
